Working in agencies, one thing I’ve repeatedly seen is how much pain suboptimal frontend foundations can create. Simple changes become slow and risky. Projects that should be rethemes turn into partial or full rebuilds.
Over time, that experience has led me to develop an interest in how to mitigate those issues. Of course, the reasons projects go wrong are usually multiple (and sometimes not even engineering-related), but less than solid foundations show up again and again.
